Our professional staff will guide you on some of New Jersey's finest rivers: South Branch of the Raritan River (including the iconic Ken Lockwood Gorge), the Musconetcong River, the Pequest River, and the Lamington (Black) River. If you are looking to explore tributaries or a specific creek, we can absolutely help you out with that as well. We are excited to begin offering Pennsylvania guide trips very soon!
We specialize in providing clients, especially those new to the area or to fly fishing, a fun and informative experience on our local waters. Experts and beginners alike can improve their casting, presentation, wading, fly selection, knot tying, entomology and stream etiquette. South Branch Outfitters is located one mile from the Ken Lockwood Gorge, one of New Jersey's premier fly fishing destinations, as well as many other great areas in this lovely corner of the Garden State. Let our guides share with you their decades of experience to provide a fun and productive day of fly fishing.
All of our guides are "in-house guides", fully insured and certified in CPR. Guides provide basic terminal tackle including flies, tippets and leaders. Rental gear (boots and waders, rod and reel) are available.
Booking a Guide Trip
If you are interested in booking a guide trip please contact us at events@sboutfitters.com. Let us know how many anglers would be fishing, if you have a preferred date and whether you are interested in public or private waters.
We begin matching you up with a guide and coordinating preferred dates and times once the trip is purchased. Guide trips are good for one year from purchase date.
Trips requested within 7 days of the desired date require a $100 non-refundable deposit before we check guide availability. If we are unable to secure a guide for your requested date/time, your deposit will be refunded in full. If a guide is available, the deposit will be applied toward your trip cost and the remaining balance will be due before your trip. This policy ensures we can fairly compensate our guides for reserving time on short notice.
