Watch the Water Temp
Trout feed most actively between 50-65Β°F. Above 68Β°F, consider fishing early morning or finding cooler tributaries.
Check Flow Levels
For the South Branch, 100-250 CFS is ideal. Higher flows mean bigger flies fished deep; lower flows call for smaller, lighter presentations.
Match the Hatch
When you see rising fish, take a moment to observe. Size and silhouette often matter more than exact color.
