Week of April 13th 2025: Hendricksons

Week of April 13th

Week of April 13th

Quick report - after some much needed rain, and far less needed freezing temperatures and snow, the rivers are fishing great.  Hendricksons are on the Eastern PA creeks and our rivers.  Look for activity before noon and the hatch gets going good around 1:00.

Blue Wing Olives are working in the mornings. Cloudy, drizzly days are OK for these, but look for sunny mid-days to catch the Hendo hatch. Caddis are hatching in great numbers throughout the day, too.

As usual, a streamer or wooly bugger never hurts if the bugs take a break.

Thank you to the Beates family for putting together another amazing Trout Fest!  I especially enjoyed the music, the tacos, and the hot cup of excellent coffee.  I heard the pizza and beer was fantastic, too. Our TU chapters represented and showed some new folks around a fly rod and aquatic life and our vendors presented crafts from around NJ.

This is a great week to be out and fishing in New Jersey!

See you out there, Roy B.
